Chris Vine's Winning Wisdom for Comberton Juniors - Part Two.

And here is a summary of Chris's points to the Tuesday afternoon group.

1. Variation of serve - think about whether your opponent is positive and returning your serve accurately? Is it time to try something different?

2. How about your return of serve? Avoid anything weak or predictable.

3. Concentrate on getting accurate short shots: get your feet set and balanced; watch the ball; keep your racquet movement reliable.

4. Make sure your technique does not produce any weak or predictable shots. Practise with the right grip until every shot feels routine to you.

5. Develop a 'Winning Mentality':
- think about a game plan and your tactics
- have a positive mental attitude
- make sure you are selecting the correct shot
- and make sure your shot is executed well
- plan for realistic goals so that you aren't disheartened by expecting too much of yourself
- keep your self-respect by not trying to win at all cost. Respect the rules and the spirit of the game.
