Another excellent county league result for Comberton Juniors
Our First Team narrowly failed to make it a hat-trick of wins for our junior teams this season, coming home second to Hunts County, but finishing comfortably ahead of Hunts Leisure and St Ivo.
With Rory Symmons missing the whole season through injury and Andy Hall unavailable because of work commitments we were heavily reliant on Nils Downes, Euan Macnamee and Ben Stutchbury, with Matt Cole and Tom Symmons in supporting roles in the latter part of the season. Going in to our final fixture there was little to choose between us and Hunts County, but our number 3, Tom, was still recovering from a bout of illness and was unable to compete effectively as a result. So despite strong performances from Euan at #1 and Ben at #2 we couldn’t make up the necessary ground on our main rivals, even though we beat them 9-5 on the day.
Final points tally for the Premier Division:-
1. Hunts County 55 points
2. Comberton 46 points
3. Hunts Leisure 29 points
4. St Ivo 27 points
